Maré Baixa Book a table

Long lunches between the rice fields and the sea

Fish from the boats at Carrasqueira, rice from the field next door, and a table that is yours for the afternoon.

The tide decides what we cook

Maré baixa means low tide. When the water goes out, the clam pickers walk into the Sado estuary, and a few hours later their baskets are in our kitchen.

The rice grows in the paddies you can see from your chair. Lunch starts at half past twelve, and nobody will ask for the table back.
